Coolhand are a contemporary British rock band founded by songwriting duo Luke Bradshaw (guitarist) and Darren Edwards (vocalist).
Their debut self titled album ‘Coolhand’ was released in 2014 and comprises of twelve original songs/compositions written by Bradshaw and Edwards themselves. The album also includes co writing credits from Gareth Kedward (Virtual Life, Summertime Shuffle, Dead Man’s Hand, Looking Back) and Alle Pearse (Hardly The Time).
The album was simultaneously written and recorded in the studio with Darren taking on vocal duties and Luke not only playing/recording all the guitar parts but also a number of the other instruments too. In addition Luke also engineered and produced the album.
The album also includes contributions/performances from the following musicians:
Quinton Quammie - Drums (Such a Fool, Everything, Hardly The Time, Give Love a Chance, Stand Up).
Paul Smith - Drums (Virtual Life, Summertime Shuffle, Dead Man’s Hand, Looking Back, Pretender Love).
Ryan Aston - Drums (Can’t Carry On).
Pablo Roberts Morales - Bass guitar (Virtual Life, Summertime Shuffle, Dead Man’s Hand, Looking Back).

Coolhand’s debut album was released in 2014 and received rave reviews from critics and the public alike and even peaked at number 15 in the IBBA monthly chart (one position below the late, great BB King the month of his death).
‘Coolhand - Live at The Globe’ was never an intended album but more of a happy accident. On the 4th July 2015 Coolhand performed a sold out show at The Globe, a renowned music venue in Cardiff South Wales. That same night the front of house sound engineer recorded the bands set in full and after listening back to the recording Luke and Darren decided to take the raw multi track files into the studio to remix and produce the live recording in its entirety for a commercial release. As well as live versions of all of the songs from their debut studio album, ‘Live at The Globe’ also included three previously unreleased songs (Just a Man, Ode to Law and She’s Hot).
Performing alongside Luke and Darren the Coolhand live band includes Gareth Kedward on keyboards, Pablo Roberts Morales on bass guitar, Sammi Broad on backing vocals and the newest addition Rhys Roberts on drums. On occasion an extra rhythm guitarist (Moc Issac) and a second backing singer (Miriam Isaac) were also added to the band line up.
'Coolhand Live at The Globe' was released in 2016 and once again received rave reviews from critics and the public alike.
Coolhand continue to perform live and are currently writing and recording their next studio album which should be ready for release in the not too distant future, so watch this space.
